I tot I witness a biblical miracle...

Last saturday was Rice Distribution!! Prior to Saturday, the staff went out on Wednesday to give out flyers to the neighbourhood, to chit chat and also interview interview the area. Was very new to me as I am not stationed in the headoffice, but nonetheless, I was getting hyped up as I go from  house to house =) oh yes.. I already mentioned that in my last post =) hehehe

So SO!! came Saturday! I am the overall IC for 3 blocks of flats!!! I almost fainted knowing that on Friday! hahaha Well.... So, what has tt gotta do with witnessing a biblical miracle? =)
I have a bunch of volunteers who already sorta knew each other, which was good! so there were 3 pairs of them and me la =) wanting to give them a true good volunteering experience, I decided to let the 3 pairs go up and do the rice distribution while I will stay downstairs to JAGA the rice =) although I really wanted to go up and present the rice to them, see them smile, hear them say thank you and just, being a blessing to them. SO!! staying down to JAGA is also being a blessing to the community, that I know =) So I did! while the rest of them went up, I stood downstairs and looked up at the block.. did some mental calculations... there's 12 units on one level, there are 10 levels (including the ground floor). that makes it 120 units... then there's the rice... each big pack has 40 and every block was given 6 big pack.. that makes... 240 packets of 500g rice. Each household was blessed with 1kg. looking at mathematics, there should be JUST enuff for every household to get 1kg from us. JUST ENUFF... or so they say... the volunteers went up, came down to replenish, went up and came down... they were told at the beginning that there will be households where there will not be anyone ard during the time of distribution, in situations like this, we are free to give more to those household which we think needs more. So, they did. I saw one volunteer gave a household 2 kg! thats fine and great! =) they came down saying that they also slotted rice packets to those household where there was no answer. hmmmm... there was 240 packets just enuff for every household to receive ONE kg... then one volunteer saw some construction workers and went away with 6 500g-packets. told us she gave them all out to 6 construction workers. then there was this uncle who was staying at some other block but was walking and stopping and staring at us giving out rice, after a small chat, I decided to just give him 2 packets (1kg) anyway... we were left with nothing.

What puzzled me was... we gave out extras, we left at people's door steps... we gave to construction workers, we gave to some uncle who were staying at another block... didn't we... had JUST ENUFF for the 120 units in that block..? such that every household gets ONE kg?? marvelled at His work... I was reminded of the 5 barley loaves and 2 fish... and the 5,000 man and the 12 baskets full.......... WOW!!!!! and yet, it sends shivers down my spine... =) could it be happening right before my eyes???

I am so glad people like Shuai, Samantha, Clarissa, Lucas, Eugene, Janice, Huimin, Cheryl, Kenneth and Sashi!! came to volunteer with us!! although if they had submitted their names much earlier, they wld prolly all be placed under me. but I am glad that at least my colleague paired them up and put them in different blocks! hearing from most of them, I am truely glad that they enjoyed themselves and want MORE!!

I really felt like challenging his comment today. What exactly did he see? but in the end, I decided not to and to keep it coollleeeeeeeeeyyyyoooooozzzzz =) =) Oh well, I shouldnt be challenging him
